Sales platform for MAN
The task: One system for four groups of users
Business with second-hand utility vehicles is booming. Reason enough for MAN to replace its outdated online platform for the sale of buses and trucks with a modern Java solution. The special requirement: MAN TopUsed targets four different groups of users – potential vehicle buyers, MAN sales staff and external dealers – and also acts as an evaluation basis for MAN's central second-hand vehicle sales. Consequently, the aim was to unite various requirements and interests in one intelligent system.
The service: Cirquent developed a modern sales portal
In a tender process Cirquent beat three competitors. The company was especially able to convince MAN with its process expertise in the second-hand market – experiences gained from working in projects for the BMW Group.
Cirquent developed a Java-based system that is largely filled directly from MAN's SAP system. Importers with no access to this inventory system can put their vehicles into the platform via a separate interface. In addition to the classic elements of a sales portal Cirquent also integrated functions similar to a CRM system. They help the sales staff process their business quickly and efficiently.
The benefits: One tailored solution for everyone
The platform is seamlessly embedded in the Group's overall IT strategy. The Java technology used in the solution is state of the art – and the system is exceptionally reliable: each month roughly 14,000 people visit the TopUsed site – and on average the hotline that was especially set up for the site has to deal with less than one phone call per working day. There have been no complaints about the new system. And the concept of servicing four groups of users simultaneously has also been a success: buyers, sales staff, dealers and the second-hand car sales department are all satisfied with the new TopUsed portal. One tailored solution that fits everyone.
